Are the Fletcher twins getting Manchester United minutes because of nepotism?

Fletcher twins got some stick after yesterday's friendly a few takes calling it straight up nepotism were way too harsh. Tyler was highly rated in the youth setup last season, so pre-season minutes make sense. Jack's honestly a level below though.

If anyone deserved a proper look and didn't get it, it's Thwaites, United's academy just isn't that deep. Also Kone's injured, Orozco only just arrived, and Collyer was crocked half of last season and might be off anyway.

People saw a couple of sloppy performances and jumped straight to "Darren Fletcher's only still there because of connections", a bit much. I used to be anti-Fletcher myself, but INEOS aren't sentimental, so if they're still keeping him around, he's probably doing something useful

Realistically the twins won't see minutes once the season starts anyway, maybe a Carabao or FA Cup appearance at best, every position already has two senior options.

Friendlies exist to test kids and get them seen. They're 19, let them play, that's the only way to find out if they're actually good enough.

Which is exactly why Mainoo is such a rare one. And even Mainoo's not fully there yet, next season he might just be back-up to Tielemans and Andrey Santos. So yeah, give the young ones time.
